(Anywhere)

GreeneStreet Films / Jetpack Media needs a UX/UI designer.

We produce the web show, Old Jews Telling Jokes. Its homepage currently looks like this. We want it to look more like this. And we have some functionality we'd like to add. Can you help?

We need someone who can lead us into the HTML5 future, someone who can design an interface we can use for several upcoming video projects. We need that interface to work in HTML5-enabled browsers and on the forthcoming Google TV.

The interface you design will need to work with the blip.tv API and the Tumblr.com API. If you are familiar with these, please let me know.

Development services not required, but if you can build the thing yourself, or you have developers you work with regularly, that's a plus.

Apply: Just send me an email, at ericspiegelman@gmail.com. Please include at least three samples of your work.

Python Developer at FreshBooks (Toronto, ON)

Love the fast-paced and creative environment of a start-up, but could do with a little less stress and chaos? FreshBooks has been around for more than five years now and has a fanatical fan base of over a million people who use our groundbreaking web application. We need fresh-thinking, disciplined developers who know their way around tools like jQuery, SQLALchemy and RabbitMQ but also know their enterprise-level design. In return, we supply a stable, creative environment(want a Mac? got Ubuntu? No problem!) with a competitive compensation package, and the sort of collaboration that comes out of just wanting to get things done, not from the latest IEEE-mandated "best practice".

You will:
Join our development team in designing and developing our popular online application and the tools we use to run our business behind the scenes — you should be able to figure out what that entails. You’ll learn hands-on about our industry and our customers, and you’ll be figuring out how to make them happy, and then going ahead and doing it.

We need you to have:
• 3 years’ experience building online applications
• 2-3 years experience with object-oriented development in dynamic languages like Python or Ruby
• Serious SQL chops and experience with an ORM
• Communication skills like whoa (you better be able to talk to customers on the phone (yes, we talk to our customers on the phone))
• Demonstrated fanatical attention to detail
• No desire to waste our time because you don't actually have some of the qualities described above

We hope you have:
• Experience deploying and maintaining web server technology
• Familiarity with source control systems
• Some experience with event-driven or functional programming
• Experience with “Agile” development methodologies (whatever “Agile” means)

Interested? Send your resume and cover letter to careers@freshbooks.com and tell us why this is a role for you.

We are a venture-funded museum multimedia tour startup, currently at 9 California museums. We create the next generation of awesome museum multimedia tours!

More information on our product is available at: http://www.moblmedia.com/MM-Brochure.pdf (PDF 4.9MB)

We have 9 major museum clients in California that see a total of 2.3 million annual visitors. Have you ever used an audio tour at a museum? They're really, really outdated. Our current product and vision includes social networking integration, interactive content production, games, and other cool stuff that can make a museum visit much more fun. Our clients include the Crocker Art Museum, the California Science Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the San Diego Natural History Museum, UCLA, and more.

We are a young company (a little over 1 year) with a team of 15; venture funded and starting to generate revenue. We acquired clients at a rate of 1 museum every 10 days, so had to start turning down museums in order to deliver to our initial group. We have world-famous partner companies (Encyclopedia Britannica, Oxford University Press, and others) who want a piece of the action, and a top 15 global law firm (Reed Smith) taking us on for free. We have achieved our previous financing round's milestones and are now raising our next round of capital from new and current investors so we can hire more talent and take advantage of the market land grab.

This is a "last call" to join the founding team as a co-founder for higher stock options before we start hiring non-founding employees. We are based in Westwood (near UCLA) and are relocating to the bay area.

What you get:

- Stock options in a venture-funded corporation, and salary starting in 6 to 8 months while we secure our next round of growth capital (with backpay if continuing on with us).
- Responsibility and privilege as a cofounder. The two original founders are just as accountable to you as you are to them.
- The opportunity to work on and improve what is currently the coolest and most visionary museum multimedia tour platform in the industry.

Ideal for:

- The startup-happy who want the best entry point into a strong and really exciting startup; the highest possible stock options as part of the founding team before we start hiring non-founding employees.
