(Anywhere)
Required Skills
- A solid understanding of Grid Layouts (960 fixed & fluid).
- Usability: Your work doesn't belong in an art museum - it belongs on the web because it is used, not just looked at. You understand the importance of links actually looking like links. You've read, or at least understand, Steve Krug's "Don't' Make Me Think Web Design"
- Web Typography: You understand fonts that are available on the web today and what fonts are supported by CSS technologies (@font-face, Typekit, etc..).
- Dedicated: You really give a shit about what you do. You want it done right and you're willing to do what it takes.
- On Time & On Budget: You're budget doesn't have to be dead on (I understand extra time can be needed during a project).
Other Pluses
- You can design for multiple devices (not just a desktop browser). You're inspired by designs like this and this.
- You're a Fireworks guru (makes life very easy for us developers to slice what we need). Photoshop applicants are obviously still considered.
- You're a Mac user and you're available on iChat (we love to video chat). Or at least AIM.
- You can work from wherever you want, when you want and how you want.
- You can manage yourself and make good judgement calls.
- You have a sense of humor. You know what 1337 means.
Deliverables: For each project, I expect an organized png (or psd) with a design that conforms to a grid.
What I'll give you to work with: A Basecamp writeboard with a the full outline of the site and a writeboard for each page (or an existing page with the content). As far as rates go, you tell me what you think you're worth.
Rates: If your work justifies it, then I'm all for it. The more points that you've met above, the better chance you have at meeting that rate.
Apply: Please email me your work. Links/jpgs/png are cool. Email me with any questions. dan@enhancedinnovations.com
