Liquidware Labs (located in Alpharetta, GA) is seeking a motivated individual to join an exciting young company as a software engineer. This is a position for a candidate who has a solid software engineering background with strong experience in Microsoft Windows systems level programming. This position offers a great opportunity for growth in a leading-edge software startup in the virtualization space. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with some or all of the following: Windows services and OS hooks, Windows Management Interface (WMI) and system APIs for 32-/64-bit OS, Windows networking and device drivers, Windows user interface programming (MFC, WPF, .NET), Windows event logs, Windows logons and Active Directory, Windows security. The candidate should possess solid written and oral communication skills, and should enjoy working in a demanding but rewarding environment.
Specific Duties
• Hands-on development of exciting new enterprise software solutions.
• Work closely with development leaders and managers to plan releases.
• Participate in the definition and design of new features and products.
The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and must be flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of a small start-up company.
Required Skills
To be effective in this position the candidate must be technically capable of performing assigned duties with limited direction. Specific knowledge and skills required for this position include:
• Bachelors in CS or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 3+ years of Windows systems programming experience.
• 3+ years of C/C++/C# programming.
• Strong experience in programming and troubleshooting some or all of the following: Windows services, Windows drivers, Windows networking software, Windows user interfaces, Web Services (SOAP).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly break down and understand complex issues.
• Experience with software engineering best practices, including use of version control systems, change and defect tracking tools, and test automation tools.
• Experience working with WMI or other APIs for process monitoring
• Experience dealing with new Windows versions such as Vista, Windows-7
• Experience working with virtualization platforms such as VMware a plus
