Job
Description:
As the platform engineering manager, you will be
managing and contributing to a team that builds systems that work alongside our
core ecommerce platform. Examples of systems you will be constructing are:
- Loyalty engine
- Cache Management systems
- Integration frameworks for 3rd party systems
- Technologies to support our mobile initiative
Desired
Experience and Skills:
- A desire to make work fun and enjoyable (this is first on the list for a reason)
- You must eat, sleep and drink Java (both the programming language and the drink)
- You have worked for an eCommerce site and loved the action
- Experience with high-volume transactional systems; you must think of response times in terms of milliseconds
- Experience directly managing small technical teams
- Ability to motivate and organize a team to deliver quality product fast
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and databases
- Experience with web services
- A BS in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 3 years management experience
