Teacher U is a New York-based social sector organization dedicated to bringing about transformational change in teacher preparation. In partnership with leading education reform organizations, it has created a rigorous curriculum designed to be completed in tandem with a full teaching workload. The overall objective is to provide enrolled teachers with the support they need to succeed during their critical first years in practice.
The Academic Technology Coordinator will be a highly visible role, interfacing with a wide variety of internal and external individuals, including the organizations employees, its enrolled teachers and colleagues at its partner organizations. The Academic Technology Coordinator will report directly to, and work closely with, the Director of Technology and Knowledge Management.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administering and supporting Teacher Us web-based learning management system (Course Platform).
- Assisting instructors with the creation and delivery of courses (both in person and online) and course materials.
- Assisting the Teacher U administrative staff with the configuration of course enrollments.
- Supporting enrolled teachers as they obtain course materials and complete assignments.
- Assisting instructors as they access, grade and return enrolled teachers' work.
- Resolving ongoing questions and troubleshooting needs.
- Coordinating and preparing technology-related logistics, materials and support for Teacher U class days, in conjunction with other Teacher U staff and partner organizations audiovisual and technology departments.
- Assisting colleagues in the Technology Department with providing daily operational technology support to internal employees, enrolled teachers and instructors.
- Assembling technology-related administrative reports to ensure financial reporting compliance.
- Conducting research and writing summary recommendations to enhance organizational productivity through new technology tools.
Given the extent to which Teacher U will leverage technology as a strategic tool, the Academic Technology Coordinator will be critically important in ensuring a positive instructional experience for its enrolled teachers and maximizing the productivity of the organizations employees.

- Fluency with all of the following technologies:
+ Microsoft Windows
+ Microsoft Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Access)
+ Working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS, Moodle preferred)
- A team player ready to accept constructive criticism, work on tight-timelines and pitch-in, if necessary, in areas not confined to pre-defined domains

- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured, entrepreneurial environment without formal training or orientation
