We just received $1.2M from the best known angels in Silicon Valley (Banister, Calacanis, Schachter, etc) and we need some rock star engineers. You can read more about our funding in VentureBeat and see our CEO's quote in the WSJ:

ABOUT US
Come join an early stage start up that is getting incredible traction, growing quickly, and has huge ambitions to reshape the local service space (a $500B+ market). Founded in August 2008, Thumbtack is creating a marketplace for local services in the same way eBay and Amazon brought products online over a decade ago.
Where do people go to find a plumber, babysitter, dog walker, or voice lesson? Most individual service providers don't have their own website, so Google isn't very useful. Craigslist is anonymous, not particularly safe, and best suited for finding apartments or used furniture, not great local service providers. This vacuum leaves many local service professionals with no good alternative but to advertise their services with flyers thumbtack-ed to local bulletin boards. Pretty ridiculous, right? The exchange of products moved online years ago, and local services are poised to follow imminently.
Thumbtack offers service providers a permanent online home to advertise their skills and tools to vouch for their dependability and reputation. We are about to build some huge features including transaction, invoicing, scheduling support, and the automated matching of buyers and service professionals. These features are really big and complex -- and crucial to our success -- and we'll need your help making them come to life.
Our small team is young and energetic, passionate about our potential, and has an awesome time building our product. We work out of a beautiful home on the top of Buena Vista Park (between Lower Haight and Castro) with stunning views of the Bay. A chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu comes to the office and cooks us awesome food every day.
Come help us make Thumbtack as ubiquitous consumer internet company that reshapes the marketplace for local services.
