POSITION SUMMARY
Citrix is looking for a superlative Software Engineer to build networking and WAN optimization features for its Branch Repeater product line.
Depending on the experience level, this engineer will work independently or with a team leader on the design and implementation of key features using C and C++ on Linux and Windows platforms. Given the right set of skills and aptitude, this engineer can also get heavily involved in systems issues including everything from performance and scalability to hardware platform and component choices. There will be opportunities to work on both large, cross-team, cross-geography projects, as well as smaller, more agile, single-team projects.
Success in this job will start with outstanding programming and object-oriented design skills. Candidates will need to bring energy and technical curiosity to the role, and possess the smarts to quickly establish credibility with a strong team of senior engineers. They should be self-sufficient when dealing with thorny technical issues but know when to involve their co-workers.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (M.S. equivalent preferred)
- A few years in industry, enough to know your strengths and weaknesses
- Excellent (yes, really) skills in C/C++ programming and object-oriented design
- Experience in Windows or Linux systems development, with a flexible attitude towards development platform
NICE TO HAVE
- Specific protocol knowledge of TCP/IP
- Strong experience with networking products, and a broad understanding of L3-L7 protocols
- Self-sufficient when building and troubleshooting simple networking test setups
- Experience with performance and scalability analysis
