Front End Developer – EX2 Solutions (Austin, TX)
OVERVIEW
EX Squared Solutions (www.exsquared.com), a leading web application developer in Austin, TX, is seeking a full-time Front End Developer with expertise in XHTML, CSS, Javascript, and Flash development for complex websites.
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about clean, standards-based presentation layers – able to build robust, accessible front-end code with minimal browser-specific hacks.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
1. Create W3C-compliant XHTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. from UI designs/mockups (esp. Photoshop .PSD files) and system requirements
2. Update front-end code from existing applications as they are modified to support new releases.
3. Validate & debug presentation-layer issues across various common browsers/platforms.
4. Design new or derivative UI designs based on client input or existing style guides.
5. Implement Ajax/RIA effects with libraries such as jQuery.
6. Optimize XHTML, CSS, and Javascript via minimal markup, smart cascading, sprites, etc.
7. Implement site designs within CMS platforms for maintenance by non-technical users.
8. Build and maintain rich applications within Adobe Flash.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Min. 2-4 years experience implementing user interfaces and interaction design for commercial websites
· Expert CSS 2.1/3 experience, esp. advanced selectors, multi-column layouts, positioning/layers, corner/shadow techniques)
· Expert-level knowledge of W3C Web standards and browser layout engine differences to ensure cross-browser compatibility
· Advanced Javascript experience
· Advanced Flash development experience, for both timeline- and Flex-based apps using Actionscript 3
· Proficiency with a modern IDE such as Microsoft Visual Studio, within a source-controlled collaborative environment
· Proficiency with Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator
· Ability to produce robust, extensible code with minimal errors
· Extreme attention to detail
· Ability to accurately estimate and deliver work on-time, with minimal supervision
· Experience working in a team environment with software engineers and database developers
Additional consideration may be given to candidates with experience developing for:
· HTML5 (esp. canvas, drag-and-drop, video)
· Mobile-app interfaces (iOs, Android)
· ASP.NET applications (C#)
· Accessibility standards compliance (WCAG, Section 508)
