Acunu is engineering a new breed of storage, built for the needs of tomorrow's data centres and cloud providers. Based on fundamental research into algorithms for managing data layouts, the Acunu platform delivers an order to magnitude improvement in throughput, provides excellent reliability for a fraction of the power used in the existing solutions.

We're looking for smart people to expand our world-class team. You should be willing to take on challenging, interesting computer science problems in a relaxed and fun but efficient and highly skilled young company.

As a Linux kernel hacker you will be joining a small but expanding Kernel Team working towards our Beta release. You will be designing and implementing some of the core algorithms right at the heart of the product. Stability and performance are crucial.


Key Responsibilities

*As a member of the Kernel Team design and develop for Acunu's kernel storage components
*Write unit and component tests and debug and fix regressions
*Benchmark, analyse and improve its performance
*Work with the Engineering Team to integrate this work with the rest of the product.


Skills and Experience

*A degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline
*Strong C development skills, preferably on Linux
*Experience developing in Unix kernels, particularly in the file system or block layers
*An excellent understanding of operating system architecture, data structures and concurrency
*Performance analysis and engineering skills
*Familiarity with open source development tools and methodology, especially those in common use for development of the Linux kernel such as: git, Bugzilla, mailinglists
*Ability to be productive in a team environment through self-discipline and self-motivation delivering according to a schedule
