As our Intermediate Application Engineer, you'll contribute to the application design, development, performance and enhancements of our innovative web-based solution known as the Sports Knowledge Underground. In this role, you'll work as part of a small technical team in code development, application configuration, and job schedule definition as it relates to supporting the Sports Knowledge Underground application and multiple content delivery vehicles. You'll participate in all phases of the development lifecycle and apply your technical knowledge to analyze, recommend, design, build & code, install, integrate and support our internally developed application and system. You'll diagnose issues and ensure technical solutions meet performance and quality requirements in production. You'll work in a team environment where you'll provide and be encouraged to express technical opinions, assist in decision-making and openly share information across the team. You'll also heavily contribute to the QA process from creation to execution to validation of test plans and scripts to ensure a robust production environment. In addition, you'll also create basic technical design documents and assist in researching engineering tools and developing proof of concepts.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field
* An additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree
* 2 years of experience in an technical role (e.g. application development/engineering, programming/coding, or related role)
* Excellent verbal and written communication and team skills
* Experience with at least one server side technologies:
o Coldfusion 8+ (strongly preferred)
o .NET
o JSP or PHP
* Knowledge and experience with JavaScript, HTML, AJAX, and/or CSS
* Experience with SQL
* Knowledge of object oriented design principles and patterns
* Experience with Flash ActionScript 3.0 strongly preferred
* Expereince with Adobe FLEX desired
* Working knowledge of Oracle 10g RDBMS is strongly preferred
* Working knowledge of Filemaker Pro 10 database desired
* Experience developing in a three-tier environment desired
* Experience in a global, multi-currency, multi-language environment is preferred
* Experience with mobile applications development a plus
