Optoro: Senior Designer

Optoro -  a young and rapidly growing e-commerce and software business - is looking for a Senior Designer to be the creative force behind all internal and external design projects.

Our Senior Designer will be responsible for the look and feel of our destination e-commerce site, improve the usability of our internal software, and generally be the aesthetic eye for our organization.

As a Ruby on Rails shop always looking to push the technological envelope, our Senior Designer should be both at the forefront of new technologies (web, mobile, tablet, etc.), and at home with traditional css/html and print design.

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

* Has a passion for good, clean design across multiple mediums

* Has a definite sense of design and can discern good from bad

* Loves clean HTML and CSS and prides themselves on creating quality code

* Has e-commerce experience, including landing pages, email marketing, micro-sites, banner ads, checkout flow, etc.

* Loves exceptional User Interface design

* Has a strong concept of design process, including wireframes and UX

* Loves figuring out what makes a brand connect with people

* Understands and is capable of executing Flash but who prefers open web standards

* Works well independently and in cross-functional groups

* Can jump into a lead role, regardless of previous experience

* Is self motivated and auto-didactic, driven to continually improve their skills

This position will be responsible for:

* Creating design and branding for e-commerce, internal inventory management, client reporting, print media, trade-show materials, mobile applications, etc.

* Managing all things design/creative, including growing the internal team and/or working with out-sourced resources

* Implementing designs independently and with the help of external resources.

* Designing and implementing advertising campaigns through email and other channels

* Creating media for various other business purposes

* Ensuring our applications are fluid and highly usable

* Keeping Optoro at the cutting edge of web, print, and mobile design trends

Compensation:

* Salary: $50,000-$90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

* Benefits: 401k, health, paid time off, company lunches, and flexible schedules

* Full-time position

The Senior Designer will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, VP of Software Development and VP of E-commerce Marketing.
