Primate Technologies, Inc. (P-Tech) provides visualization software and services for electric utilities and other mission-critical environments. We are seeking a talented individual to work as a full-time Software Installation and Support Specialist. Highly motivated individuals seeking an entrepreneurial environment are encouraged to apply. The work environment is very autonomous, so candidates must be self-directed, self motivated, and eager to perform well with minimal supervision. We are a very virtual organization, so working from home is likely; however, candidate must be able to support meetings in Savannah, GA.
The successful candidate will be the primary customer interface, performing the following:
Travel to customer sites to install and configure our software
Conduct training sessions for customers
Assist other P-Tech technical staff as they integrate our software with customers' other enterprise software
Provide first-level technical support via phone and email
Monitor and respond to queries on our customer forum
Visit existing customers to ensure that they are getting maximum benefit from our products
Remotely log into customer sites to perform maintenance or debug problems
If you are interested, you might also take on the following responsibilities:
Attend trade shows and help customers learn about our solutions
Participate in sales efforts
Design and implement new features in our products
Publish articles that highlight the experience of a customer (i.e. case studies)
Assist in maintaining the content on our corporate website
Key attributes we seek include:
Interest in and aptitude for interaction with customers and potential customers
Able to master the use of new software quickly
Strong logical thought processes
Discretion
Enjoys working for a small company with many diverse responsibilities
Useful skills and experience would be:
Valid driver's license
Strong command of spoken and written English
Four-year degree
Experience with use and configuration of enterprise software
Experience remotely managing and configuring Windows, Linux and UNIX systems
Programming experience in languages such as C++, Java, Perl, PHP, SQL, JavaScript
Knowledge of and experience with graphics design and drafting tools such as Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
Good presentation skills
Knowledge of real-time control systems as used by electric utility companies (e.g. SCADA systems) would be beneficial, but is not required.
We work in an area that is considered critical infrastructure by the Department of Homeland Security, and so we are required to conduct background checks and drug testing on our staff. You may also have to complete customer-specific security training.
Our customers typically work in a business-casual setting.
