System Architect at RightNow Technologies (San Mateo, California, United States)

As a Systems Architect you will interact directly with clients, business development managers, solutions consultants, and application engineers to assist in the design of custom solutions and system integrations requiring custom software development.

A Systems Architect operates in a multi-function role often consisting of systems analyst, system architect, and implementation designer. In addition, from time to time you will assist other aspects of solutions consulting operational support such as training and packaged solution development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

System Architecture

*Possess a high level of technical expertise with RightNow Technologies products, services, and the RightNow Project Methodology (expected to become an expert)
*Define, analyze, and review software architecture and requirements for custom development and integration solutions, including business and workflow diagrams
*Leads the technical strategy and confirms feasibility of complex statement of work efforts
*Leads discovery sessions with customers to map customer requirements to RightNow functionality
*Maintains up-to-date RightNow certifications and training on current products, tools and architecture
*Assists sales team members in both sales and solution opportunities
*Displays initiative and self motivation and delivers high quality work, meeting deadlines for both internal and external customers
*Work with RightNow Product Management and Development teams to enhance tool sets, applications, and integration methodologies. With the end goal of creating a better set of offering for RightNow customers.

Other Responsibilities

*Complete Proof of Concept (POC) projects as directed by your manager and the Vice President of Solutions Consulting
*Work with Professional Services management and Hosting to ensure custom programming requests are reasonable and viable and will not conflict with development of base product functionality or cause issues within the hosted environment
*Work with the Business Development Managers to validate architecture in large engagements
*Work with the Solutions Consulting team to maintain and improve the Demo environment
*Assist in the production of project scopes, including research and development tasks and proving functionality or capability

Misc.

*Able to operate across multiple projects simultaneously and assume responsibility for the appropriate architecture and technical design of projects
*Other duties, as assigned by management


Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background

*4 + years working in application development or developing custom integrations
*Enterprise Level Pres-Sales experience (Oracle, PSFT, Siebel, or RightNow preferred)
*Excellent organization and time management skills
*Combination of business experience, technical skills, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in project details
*Team player who will work within the company to continue improving the way we serve our customers
*Excellent communication skills, including written, and verbal skills
*Ability to travel up to 25%
*Background in application development or professional services development in back office applications
*Understanding or experience in CRM applications
*Proficient user of RightNow CRM, expert preferred
*Experience with enterprise integrations (at both data and desktop levels)
*Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, or related field (Masters degree preferred)
