The sustainability department within Summit provides strategic leadership to clients in the area of environmental sustainability including greenhouse gas / carbon emissions management, renewable energy development and corporate environmental sustainability planning (for more detail: http://www.summitenergyGPS.com). The Sustainability Program Manager will contribute to the delivery of internal and external sustainability services to Fortune 500, international clients. The Program Manager will be expected to research, analyze and create client deliverables for environmental sustainability services and processes.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN LOUISVILLE, KY. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS NOT PROVIDED.
Lead and manage internal and external client relationships and high impact projects for environmental sustainability customers, including project planning, status communication, issue resolution and solution design and implementation
Provide guidance and technical review for sustainability team deliverables including greenhouse gas (GHG) / carbon emissions inventories, water footprinting, waste and associated documentation and program planning
Conduct in-depth review of water, waste and carbon portfolios of clients including site assessments and preparation of recommendations to improve operations and product development
Evaluate clients environmental portfolio and identify regulated and/or market opportunities to support client sustainability objectives
Ensure completion of tasks, milestones, and delivery components
Support sales and client development efforts as technical services / subject matter resource; contribute to development of services / product for emerging areas of sustainability
Research, analyze and recommend client-specific strategies regarding environmental sustainability policies and activities based on market conditions
Administer rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis and review of empirical data with particular focus on environmental data such as carbon, water and waste including life-cycle analysis (LCA)and supply chain initiatives
Support requests for proposals (RFPs) for green / renewable energy and carbon products, negotiation of supply contracts and delivery of client recommendations
Research and make recommendations to Sustainability team leadership on new and emerging markets for service and product creation
Organize, inform and partner with multi-disciplinary teams within Summit to coordinate service delivery
Act as a key liaison with regulatory entities, vendors and product/service companies
Other duties as requested

Essential skills and qualifications:
High commitment to company vision, values and excellent client service
Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Sustainability, Engineering or a related quantitative field with an interest in pursuing a career in sustainability
5 - 10 years of related professional experience with consulting and/or corporate firm.
Demonstrated ability in leading and managing complex projects
Progressive history of building successful relationships
Proven track record in developing, managing, and executing client solutions
Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, complex analysis and ideas in a concise manner
Experience leading team discussions and making senior management level presentations
Environmental experience, particularly with respect to water and/or waste management
Analytical self-starter with strong attention to detail
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on multiple complex projects in diverse areas
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Non-essential skills and qualifications:
Masters degree
Environmental experience, particularly with respect to water and/or waste management
