Appropriate use of hooks in HTML to limit the amount of classes and IDs
Deep understanding of CSS inheritance and how to use it to your advantage
Always weed out extraneous markup
A good ideology for managing maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code across large sites
Familiar with source control principles and comfortable with Subversion
In-depth knowledge of IE quirks and how to address them
Experience working with jQuery, advanced JavaScript skills a big bonus

We are a 20 person team that is incredibly passionate about web development. While our bread and butter is building and redesigning web sites we also specialize in mobile, Facebook apps and email newsletters. We operate about 30 web sites and counting. Given the different brands in our portfolio the work is always varied and different and consistently presents new challenges.
Our Technology
All our sites are hosted in a LAMP environment and our studio is Mac based using MAMP Pro to run the sites locally. Source control is handled with Subversion and we prefer to code in Coda. All our developers get fully loaded 8-core Mac Pros with Parallels installed for cross-browser testing.
Our Environment
We are located in the heart of downtown Oakland directly above 12th St. BART making it an easy commute for most people. We enjoy stunning views from our 18th floor digs and the office environment is fun and jovial. The studio is always busy but late nights are seldom required. We pride ourselves on clearing through heavy workloads while still having a laugh and enjoying ourselves.![]()
