We have an immediate opening on our product development team for a Lead Java Developer to oversee the construction and ongoing improvement of our software-as-a-service products. This position is based in Eugene, Oregon. Telecommuting is not appropriate since we work in a tightly knit scrum-style team.
A great candidate for the Lead Java Developer role will have these qualities:
* Deep, broad, and current hands-on experience with Java development
* Passion for high-quality software and user success
* Proven architect-level skill set
* Clear understanding of best practices in contemporary software development
* Track record of excellent technical decision making
* Strong communication skills
* The ability to lead and mentor a diverse team
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
* Specific experience with JBoss Seam or proven ability to learn new technologies quickly
Experience leading a scrum team or other agile development process is strongly preferred. Knowledge of .NET and other desktop software technologies is also highly beneficial, since our team produces both SaaS and Windows software, though the focus with this hire is on the web side.
