A bit about the work.
We are seeking a creative and visionary graphic desgner whose primary role will be creating and developing visual design for our customers' communication efforts. Our customers will use these designs as a springboard for their communications across multiple interactive and print delivery mediums. Working with us, your creative work will serve as a base for thousands of organizations to reach and effectively communicate with their audiences. Your creative work will inspire an entire industry and help change the way content is delivered across the Web.
This is a full-time position in our Birmingham, Alabama office. This position will be managed by the VP of Marketing and Business Development. Salary and benefits are relative to skill, education and experience. Core benefits include health and dental insurance, retirement benefits and paid time off.
What you'll be doing:
- Creative and production of interactive and print-based designs for our customers' communication materials.
- Creative and production of marketing and communication materials (interactive and print) for Axletree Media, our products and services.
- Creative and production of illustration and retouching/editing photos for marketing and communication materials.
- File management of creative resources, architectural evaluations and usability testing.
- Assistance with creative and production of video-based training, graphics, animations and short videos.
The core skills you must have:
- Fresh, confident, and clean creatives that span across styles, mediums and genres.
- A commitment to simplifying complex communication through visually simple design.
- An eye for seeing (and creating) beautiful and usable design with attention to the details.
- Very well versed in design applications - like Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (RIP FreeHand, we miss you.)
- Comfort and understanding with standards based design and designing within frameworks.
- Ability to envision our customers' various communication needs and create rich solutions to match those needs.
- Experience in a professional creative production role.
Some advanced skills that will set you apart:
- Ability to create and storyboard visual creatives for training, animations and short film production.
- Comfort with video editing and production is a major plus.
- Comfort with creating interactive content (Flash or standards-based equivalents).
- BFA or higher in Graphic Design or similar creative degree.
