Sibley/Peteet Design Austin is looking for someone who is passionate about making great websites – someone who is comfortable with the design process, and who can realize that design using clean, standards-based front-end code. The ideal candidate specializes in front-end development, but has roots in the design world.
As a member of a small interactive team, you'll be responsible for creating websites and web deliverables from design layouts. At times, the development process is collaborative, other times you'll be responsible for the bulk of work for a project. You'll contribute layouts and design elements to presentations, and will be able to champion and produce your own work. Our small size and diverse client base affords you as much responsibility and opportunity as you want.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must be able to create standards-based XHTML/CSS from design layouts
- Expert knowledge of cross-platform differences, and ability to troubleshoot layouts for desired display in major browsers back to IE6
- Ability to create precise graphic assets from design files
- Understanding of semantic, SEO-friendly coding practices
- Ability to create front-end behavior using jQuery, and other open source tools
- Strong design aptitude
- Attention to design detail – must be able to convert layouts precisely and faithfully to front-end code
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications
- Proficient with Mac OS
- Ability to take direction
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Additional Desired Skills
- Ability to create sites within one or more CMS frameworks, particularly PHP/MySQL solutions
- Understanding of basic shared hosting management
- PHP and MySQL knowledge
- Proficient with mobile device styling and detection
- Flash and Actionscript skills
- Familiarity with IA development
