
Florida International University, South Florida's public, four-year university, invites applications for an Assistant Director, Office of Sustainability who will initiate and oversee new programs to establish and strengthen sustainable practices across the various campus locations. Currently, the Sustainability Committee encourages and facilitates the collaborative efforts of the University community, instills awareness of environmental issues, and integrates practices into research, education, and communication that establish an institutional culture of sustainability.
Founded in 1965, FIU is the youngest university to be awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter by the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the country's oldest academic honor society and is a first-tier research university as designated by the Florida Legislature and the Carnegie Foundation. The University offers 199 bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs in 17 colleges and schools on three campuses in Miami and one in China.
Scope of responsibilities include:
â?¢ Identifying and pursuing external funding, including grants, gifts, rebate programs, or other savings programs for sustainability practices and projects.
â?¢ Developing and implementing an incentive, recognition, and awards program for university units engaged in sustainability efforts.
â?¢ Identifying, implementing, and tracking progress on greenhouse gas emission reduction activities.
Minimum qualifications:
Candidate must possess a Master's Degree and two relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree and four years of relevant experience. The position of Assistant Director requires thorough knowledge of and experience implementing sustainability projects and indicators.
Salary: $55,000
