To feature all these great businesses, we need highly motivated, persistent Sales Associates looking to work in a fast-paced, funded and growing startup in the heart of the Flatiron district of New York City. You'd be working with, calling and meeting with restaurants, bars, theaters, museums, sports teams.....basically anything that offers an amazing experience in the city as well as places you may have always wanted to try - consider these places your local favorites. This is the type of position where top performers will be able to earn the right to work from home (or wherever you're comfortable making calls and closing). There will be opportunities to take on new cities as we expand, and room for promotion as City-Wide and Regional Sales Managers.

Responsibilities:

- Determine and develop relationships with your city's premier local businesses (Michelin-starred restaurants anyone?)
- Own, manage and drive the full sales cycles from first contact through contract negotiation/close as well as repeat sales
- Make editorial decisions on the kind and caliber of businesses we feature, and the types of deals that will be the most interesting to our subscribers
- Build and continuously sustain communication across various means (including phone, email and in-person meetings) with the company's merchant partners

Qualifications:

- At least 1-2 years of successful track record in previous sales experience
- Relevant work experience ranging from selling into local businesses (major plus) to pharmaceutical and office-supplies sales is a plus
- Previous high-volume phone sales experience is a plus
- B.A. preferred

Skills:

- Detail and vision oriented while happy to track and log metrics daily, understands how and why this is the way to meet quota
- Someone who understands being an immediate contributor on day one, has "scrappy" startup founder mentality
- Eats "cold calling cereal" for breakfast
- Confident in any situation, knows they can figure anything out on the fly
- Loves to talk, but more importantly - knows how to listen to customers
- Unstoppable: demonstrates extreme persistence and ability to overcome obstacles, always looking to do better
