Backcountry.com is seeking a rockstar User Experience Designer to join our growing UX team. Responsibilities:
Define the user experience of our customer-facing e-commerce websites and online applications;
Work with product managers, visual designers, developers and other stakeholders in design explorations of opportunity assessments and product feature definitions;
Create wireframes of web interfaces as part of the product development process;
Produce storyboards, page layouts, user interface elements as needed for project design deliverables;
Design and manage the user experience for multiple concurrent projects, working in cross-functional product development teams;
Incorporate site analytics and optimization metrics and apply them intelligently into iterative design solutions;
Pioneer and evangelize user experience design across the organization;
Bring inspired ideas and motivation into a collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
Experience and evidence in designing for web site usability, creating inspiring visual design and delivering superior online user experiences;
Passion for user-cented design and the ability to demonstrate creative mastery of the principles in interface design, information architecture, interaction design and visual design;
Ability to develop wireframes to articulate information design and annotate interaction workflow requirements;
Ability to find simple, elegant solutions for complex usability challenges;
Be comfortable with the big picture as well as the pixel-level details;
Voracious appetite for all things Web; if it is happening, you already know about it (social networking, cloud computing, (insert current trend or buzzword here);
The work ethic and personality that thrives in a super fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, shifting priorities and the typical amount of ambiguity that goes with it;
Ability to quickly assimilate complex ideas and propose design solutions that solve problems.
