Backcountry.com is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to join our growing UXD team located in Park City, Utah. We need your killer combination of strong interaction design chops blended with your visual design finesse to create elegant and magical ways to elevate e-commerce like never before. When you do your job well, the user experience is so simple and easy to use it’s effortless and addictive.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the user experience of our e-commerce websites and online applications.
  • Work with product managers, developers and other stakeholders in design explorations and product feature definitions.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex, and sometimes ambiguous, ideas and propose elegant design solutions that solve problems.
  • Incorporate site analytics and customer feedback and apply them intelligently into iterative design solutions that optimize existing features and functionality.
  • Develop interaction design solutions, including creating rapid prototypes and mockups as needed for user testing and product development.
  • Create engaging visual design that embodies the site strategies, user goals and enhances brand appeal.
  • Produce design artifacts for project deliverables, such as annotated mock-ups, wireframes, user interface elements and interaction workflows.
  • Evangelize the role of user experience design across the company.

    Requirements:
  • Seasoned experience and smokin’ hot evidence of visual interaction design and website usability best practices, rapid prototyping and working the design from the big picture to the last pixel.
  • Preferably hold an advanced degree in user interface design, interactive media design, visual design, etc. and has a solid body of work from the real world.
  • Up on the low down of social media and design trends, familiar with major online consumer brands and the hottest startups; you read TechCrunch over morning coffee, attend SxSW, and on weekends, redesign Facebook, again.
  • Embody the work ethic and personality that thrives in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines, shifting priorities, working with super-smart colleagues from numerous departments and the willingness to take the occasional morning off to hit the slopes when an epic powder day comes along. You are someone who likes to work hard and play hard, but doesn’t take yourself too seriously.
