This individual must have the desire to perform product management, project management, and some systems administration-related tasks. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Three-to-five (3-to-5)* years experience working as an applications developer or team lead
- Desire to grow professionally, achieve clear define objectives, and become the companys Lead Developer within the first 12 months of employment
Must be local to the Los Angeles area and must work at BSS Headquarters
Job Summary:
- Responsible for supervising and performing all product development activities
-This individual will work closely with a product team that includes various functional representatives in creating technical specifications and project plans
- This individual will code and work with other developers where appropriate
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and support activities to keep system applications running in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment, utilizing sound judgment and critical thinking skills, and demonstrating leadership, initiative, and a sense of urgency to resolve problems
- Supervise development and maintenance of all product-related software
- Deliver applications within the framework of the software development life cycle
- Keep management informed of development risks and progress
-Assist in determining feasibility of new projects based on set data processing standards
- Manage activities and performance of subordinates
- Recommend staffing requirements (hiring, firing, etc).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- At least three-to-five (3-to-5)* years experience in applications development
- Strong technical skills with Ruby on Rails, CSS, HTML/XHTML, AJAX, Java script, PHP, SQL,SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
- Strong technical skills with user interface design principles and cross-browser development techniques
- Experience in mobile application development is a plus
- Experience in Flash and Photoshop is a plus
Education/Experience:
In order to accomplish the essential duties of this position, candidate must have
- Three-to-five (3-to-5 ) years* experience working as an applications developer or team lead
- Well-versed in estimating project timelines and in meeting established deadlines
- Must have a four (4)- year college degree from a U.S. accredited college or university
