Motiv is looking for an entrepreneurial Lead Embedded Software Engineer. This person would join Motiv's core technical team and be a key contributor, as part of a small team, designing and writing firmware for multiple modules making up the powertrain of an electric drive vehicle. Responsibilities include software design, coding, testing, and debugging. Candidates should enjoy getting their hands dirty and debugging in hardware with digital probes, oscilloscopes, etc. They should be able to exercise leadership and enthusiastic contribution across a wide range of technical and non-technical activities. Candidate must be very self-motivated. This position is full time and compensation will be based on experience. Sorry, we are not able to support H1B visas at this time.
Tasks:
Design, develop, implement, and maintain embedded software and algorithms
Main contributor to the firmware architecture and contributor to system and hardware architecture. Contribute to writing firmware and testing documents
Analyze, evaluate, and select new concepts and approaches for embedded software design and electric drive vehicles
Actively participate in verification, validation, debugging, and testing of embedded software and systems
Skills Required
BS or MS and 5+ years of experience in firmware development and testing
C expertise
Experience with 16 and 32 bit microcontrollers, Freescale experience preferred
Experience writing low level device drivers and with associated hardware (ADC, timers, SPI, SCI)
Comfortable with testing equipment (oscilloscope, digital probe, signal generator)
Distributed systems experience a plus
Analog circuit experience a plus
Knowledge of FlexRay or automotive grade networking a plus
Experience working in an ISO certified development environment a plus
