PBS seeks talented candidates for Sr. Operations Engineer. The Sr. Operations Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and evolving the Linux hosting platforms that power PBS's very highly trafficked websites and APIs (www.pbs.org, pbskids.org, video.pbs,org, and many more). Responsibilities on these systems include system engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance, and research and development to ensure continual innovation.
This individual will assist project teams with technical support throughout the project lifecycle. These activities include technical design review, troubleshooting, testing, deployment, and monitoring. Working closely with the Chief Architect, this engineer will help define technical standards and processes and ensure they are properly documented for internal and external consumers.
Candidates must posses 5-7 years system engineering/administration experience; Experience with "The Cloud" or Amazon Web Services is highly desirable; Bachelors degree with technical major (computer science, information systems, engineering, etc); or equivalent experience.
