Job Title: Web Artist II Location: Austin, TX Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) is looking for a highly creative and adept Web Artist to join our Web Presence group who possesses experience in many aspects of web design including: user experience design, artistic style and presentation using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator. RESPONSIBILITIES - Design and maintain cutting edge, visually compelling web sites that support, attract, retain and monetize players for our world-class online games. - Assess competitor web sites; specifically for style, presentation, usability, and layout. - Work with developers to ensure artwork is preserved and functionality works as intended. - From time to time, reassess SOE?s web sites for usability, functionality, and value. - Work closely with the Art Director to achieve the final product?s style and consistency. - Maintain web art such as feature graphics, header artwork, ad creative and any other web art related pieces. - Professionally interact with all levels of internal customers, including Brand Managers, Game Teams and Community Relations. - Keep up to date on web technology sufficient to understand how the technology is best utilized to market cutting-edge online games. - Maintain and update Adobe Flash files where needed. - Localize artwork using translated copy; also maintain art text logs for Content team. - Other related design duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS - 3 years of experience in web design or other closely related artistic field. - Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop. - Proficiency in Adobe Flash and Illustrator. - Autonomous, proactive, highly motivated and organized. - Proficient with reading, writing and troubleshooting HTML and CSS. - Ability to work under stringent deadlines and can meet timeline goals. - Able to maintain/re-purpose DHTML, XML, JavaScript and Actionscript. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Extensive game playing experience (especially MMOs and Facebook apps) a plus. - Working knowledge of the Entertainment/Gaming Industry a plus. - Knowledge of video formats and compression techniques for web distribution. - Experience using prototyping and collaboration tools such as Axure and ConceptShare. - Game development experience (especially for the web). - Digital illustration skills are a plus. - Experience working with any of the following: Adobe After Effects, video editing and compression software, 3D software, Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0.
