This individual has the responsibility for the architecture and solution for the content and services group for mobile devices in the US market. This candidate will be able to demonstrate a mature, system and solutions perspective and has experience in executing various software, mobile services and architecture design projects. This individual will be conversant in multiple embedded/mobile software platforms and technologies.
Responsibilities:
Work with planning teams to draft high level content and service architecture plans for mobile devices.
Identify optimal platform options/configurations/architectures to facilitate the delivery of mobile devices.
Work with 3rd party solution providers to establish collaboration, architecture and product development and delivery.
Be involved in meetings with carriers on technical teams and technology aspects.
Good understanding of Operating System Internals, Processor Architectures, Single/Multi-Core Platforms.
Manage platform, feature development and roadmaps.
Work closely with user experience teams to deliver the optimum consumer experiences on the phone.
Utilize deep strategic understanding of technical directions of the mobile device industry and drive future technologies, solutions to Samsung products.
Collaborate with Product Planning, R&D, Product Marketing and deliver products according to plans.
Background/Experience required:
Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or technology field preferred.
Minimum 8-10 years experience in software programming, development, engineering, or related field with 5 years experience working on mobile software development/architecture role.
Mature understanding and working knowledge of a number of mobile software platforms like Android, LiMo, and RTOS based mobile device software architectures to deliver high quality scalable carrier-grade software and experiences.
Prior experience integrating mobile device software and service integration to Web service platforms is required.
Experience in managing mobile products from concept to launch and maintenance.
Necessary Skills/Attributes:
Very strong analytical, problem solving written and verbal skills.
Proficient with technology and all aspects of mobile service architectures.
High level thinking, but no detail is too small attitude.
Enjoys technology challenges.
Good communicator. Able to speak on engineering, management and business terms.
Works very collaboratively across global teams.
