Client is a global electronics solutions company that provides comprehensive electronic design, production and product management services to global electronics and technology companies. It operates in 21 countries with more than 85,000 employees and helps bring electronics products to the market faster and more cost effectively by providing complete product supply chain management around the world. Customers span all industries including consumer products, areospace and defense, automotive, business automation, industrial instrumentation, medical, networking and telecommunications. The Memphis operation has 300 employees and provides assembly and supply chain services to companies including IBM, HP, Netapp and Isilon.
The Quality Engineering Manager position is open due to growth, will mange a team of 8 to 12 engineers and 40 inspectors and will report to the Operations Manager. It's primary function is to provide continuous improvement through the development and implementation of quality processes, systems, tools, training and metrics in support of customers, suppliers, team members and shareholders.
Candidates must have the following credentials and experience to be considered.
* BA or BS from top school with strong academic achievement (preference for Technical Degree).
* Minimum 7 years of manufacturing/assembly experience and at least 5 years in a Leadership role.
* Minimum 2 current years leading and managing the Quality function in a fast paced Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement manufacturing assembly environment (preferably low volume/high mix with multiple business units.
* Strong competancy in quality systems, tools, metrics and regulatory requirements.
* Knowledge of ISO9000, ISO14000, QS9000, BABT, TUV and other regulatory and product certifications.
* Must be able to recruit, train, lead cross functional teams and gain "buy in" at all levels of the organization.
* Must be hands-on... with ability to operate, plan, prioritise, implement and make decisions on own initiative.
* This is a strategic position that works hand in hand with the Customers, Suppliers, Work Cell Managers and Quality Team.
* High energy, creative, passionate leader with excellent analytical, communication and mentoring skills.
