FierceMarkets, an online business media company based in downtown Washington, DC, seeks a PHP/Web Developer to join our team.
FierceMarkets runs news websites and e-mail newsletters that reach hundreds of thousands of executives every week. (See www.fiercebiotech.com or www.fiercetelecom.com, for example.)
We're looking for a multi-talented, tech-savvy individual who enjoys working with technology and learning new things. Duties will include updating code and developing new features for our Drupal-based websites, as well as developing new web-based tools for our employees.
This is a great opportunity for a recent Comp Sci graduate.
Your Experience:
- Some software or web development experience (PHP experience is good, Drupal experience would be great!)
- Fluent in standards-based HTML and CSS.
- Familiar with the LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) environment.
- Knowledge of Subversion or a similar version control system.
- A good eye for web design.
- Database design and SQL experience a plus.
- IT troubleshooting experience a plus.
Your Qualities:
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
Compensation:
- Salary $40-45k, but definitely willing to make exceptions for qualified candidates.

This is a full-time job in our office at 1900 L St NW (near Farragut North and Farragut West). You must be eligible to work in the United States, and telecommuting is not an option.![]()
