We are currently hiring multiple Software Development Engineers (SDE) and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET). Our engineers must be end-to-end owners of software from requirements through design, development, documentation, and testing to operational deployment. We use agile development methodologies and continually build best practices for running high availability hosted software.
Your code will be exercised by every visitor to Amazon.com and its global website. As our multi-tenancy and aggregation services interact with literally every core service in Amazon eCommerce, you will be working with technical leaders across the company. This is an ideal starting point to get a broad view of Amazon teams and technologies and amplify your impact.
Base Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent foundation.
A minimum of 3 years experience in software engineering products that are used by customers, (with some senior roles utilizing 10 or more years of experience.)
Proficiency with C++ and/or Java.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience engineering middle-tier services code in a hosted services environment, with strong understanding of interactions with presentation and database/storage tiers.
Experience architecting systems for the highest degree of scale, performance, and uptime.
Experience with HTTP, RESTful architectures, and XML Web Services
Experience designing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), protocol interfaces, and document/object modeling for stability, extensibility, and versioning
Experience with Spring and other open-source frameworks.
