Director, Quality Assurance

Fox Mobile Group is growing our Quality Assurance Team to increase the level of testing for Bitbop our newest web and moblie application.
The Director, Quality Assurance needs the ability to plan strategically for internal and external QA across a number of teams. Be responsible for working with Bitbop product and development teams to create test cases, develop test automation, define test procedures, guidelines and best practices in order to assess performance, scalability and testing of our products. Work with QA leaders from our partners and vendors, help analyze their coverage, and coach/direct them to improve it.
We are looking for a well rounded QA team manager with a solid foundation in quality assurance and software development, and a proven track record of working well with other QA leaders. Prior mobile development experience is certainly not required, but be prepared to demonstrate a passion for the space. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and have a strong drive for quality and completeness, then we want to see your resume. We're a small-ish team (15 or so people) within a larger organization, based in an open plan office in downtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities
Drive growth of QA team within product and development team
Responsible for sourcing & managing external QA resources
Manage priorities in team and communicate them to team members
Provide leadership and mentoring of QA team in test plan development and organization
Quantitatively analyze test coverage of our internal team and vendors, present findings to senior executives, drive recommendations internally and to partner teams
What do you need to have to do this job?
Relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Demonstrated test automation and/or programming skills
Familiarity with web and mobile application development technologies
Proven track record of coaching, mentoring + directing QA engineers
Proven track record of partnering with other QA managers
Strong desire for hands-on involvement with every aspect of QA
