Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience

We're looking for a brilliant all round Lead Developer with good Rails experience to form the cornerstone of our small but highly talented and creative team based in Central London.

We help our clients use web and mobile technology in creative ways to enhance their business and reach their customers. Whether we are designing a service, building an application or maintaining a web site, we are passionate about doing it well.

This is what were looking for:

- An experienced all-round web developer with solid Ruby on Rails, database, sysadmin and front-end skills.

- An excellent understanding of object oriented programming and design patterns.

- A BSc or MSc in Computing Science or similar subject.

- Experience of managing projects and small teams.

- 4+ years of experience architecting and implementing robust commercial web applications.

- A broad and deep understanding of the web technology landscape.

- A passion for clean, elegant code and test driven development.

- A high level of self-motivation and organisation.

- A hunger to learn, understand and improve.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.

- A pixel level eye for detail.

Essential technologies:

Ruby, Rails, PHP, SQL, Git, Linux, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS, HTML 5, RESTful services

Bonus points for:

- Java, MySQL, Objective-C & iPhone SDK, RSpec, Cucumber, Chef, Sphinx, Scala, Flash & ActionScript 3, Wordpress.

- A keen interest in doing some mobile development on the iPhone and Android platforms.

- Ability to use Adobe products such as Photoshop and Illustrator for basic tasks.

- Experience of working in an Agile environment e.g. Scrum.

- A functional programming language.

- Being an active open source committer.

You will get the opportunity to work with a variety of different web centric and mobile technologies and platforms. You will be called upon to use your expertise to architect solutions, help plan projects and to contribute innovative ideas. On a daily basis you will mainly be working with Ruby on Rails and HTML/CSS to deliver new products and to enhance existing ones however, we believe in using the right tool for the job, so we keep an open mind about the technologies and frameworks we choose for a product.
