WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
WDDM is responsible for design, development and execution of Christ in Youth’s (CIY) website and online presence. This position reports to the Director of Organizational Advancement as part of the Marketing Team and is offered at the Joplin, MO headquarters.
Summary
WDDM is responsible for online marketing initiatives and related IT functions for web presence; responsible for the successful development, implementation and communication of fresh, creative, results-oriented web strategies and the coordination of hardware, software and architectures relevant to website structure, functionality, operations, reporting and database management.
The WDDM is responsible for website optimization. WDDM will also execute knowledge of new media, Internet related technologies and current web trends.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
- BA / BS Degree
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in web concepts, design and development
- Solid foundation in SEO programs and trends
- Key knowledge and understanding of programming (CSS) and web design, and how it affects SEO
- Ability to optimize websites for standard cross-platform browsers (i.e. IE, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.)
- In depth knowledge of user-focused web communications and design; ability to integrate and translate traditional marketing activities to web
- Ability to quickly identify technical and online issues and effectively communicate to technical and non-technical colleagues
- Experience with database-driven content management systems (PHP, MySQL, django)
- Thorough knowledge of HTML, Flash, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and additional languages
- Experience with XML sitemaps, link building, web analytics and methodology
- Working knowledge of website security measures
- Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and web development software (CODA, Textmate)
- Strong analytical skills, detail oriented / organized
- Self-starter, creative and detail oriented; proven project management experience
- Ability to multi-task under pressure / produce results in a dynamic, team-oriented, competitive environment
- Strong prioritization, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Professional services or Advertising/PR/Marketing agency experience a plus
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Identify, troubleshoot, resolve technical or systems issues with CIY website presences, often under tight deadlines
- Manage all search engine optimization (SEO) practices to maximize website visibility and drive traffic
- Ability to build and implement custom java script website enhancements
- Day-to-day liaison with IT department
- Responsible for CIY’s Domain (DNS) management
- Collaborate with marketing peers, program teams to develop, manage web assets and concepts to optimize, enhance the user experience for all program sites
- Strategize integrated website components of marketing plans, campaigns
- Monitor, analyze and interpret website traffic, data and usage trends, provide regular reports and proactively make data-led recommendations for the successful implementation or changes
- Develop plug-ins, applications that enhance social media presence, marketing goals
- Build, revise custom website pages using CSS
- Coordinate security, privacy protection measures w/ IT team
- Research, share social media activities that increase brand awareness and increase traffic to our websites
- Identify areas of opportunity for content and linking partnerships
- Train marketing team and other program leaders as needed and directed, to adapt to evolving internet world
