Working across all 16+ of The Light Group's properties, our in-house creative team is responsible for designing and building all our marketing collateral including branding, digital and print ads, web sites, micro sites, online marketing campaigns, email newsletters and many other print and digital touch points. As our sole web developer, you would join our in-house creative team, and take on many of the digital responsibilities. The work environment is fun, extremely fast-paced, challenging and offers opportunity for growth both as a developer, and within the company.
We are looking for a senior-level, UX-minded Web Developer with all-around skills, both front and backend, who is experienced in building modern, user-friendly web sites and web applications utilizing OO PHP5 and Javascript functionality. You must be highly familiar with implementing interactive and social functionality using advanced web development techniques, and are able to integrate with various APIs to improve our data, provide additional functionality and encourage content sharing throughout the social web. Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude, can work quickly under tight and often seemingly unreasonable deadlines, possesses extensive development experience, and will be dedicated to flawless execution and detail.
Required Skills
? PHP5 -- You should be a top-notch PHP5 developer, can build, scale, optimize and maintain stable, well-documented web sites and applications, while adhering to current web standards.
? JavaScript -- Expert level JavaScript skills required, including familiarity with jQuery.
? XHTML/CSS -- You must be an XHTML/CSS wiz. Our front end design is extremely important to us and you must be able to create polished, high-quality visuals and pixel-perfect user interfaces.
? MySQL -- Database development expertise required. Our business relies on extensive amounts of user data, and efficiency here is a must.
? Object Oriented Development -- Ideally should understand object oriented development, and be able to apply OO concepts.
? Objective-C, Cocoa, Java -- Familiarity with Objective-C, the Cocoa application framework, and Java is desirable.
? iOS, Android, BlackBerry -- Some prior experience programming for these mobile platforms is a plus.
? Social Applications, APIs -- You should be familiar with building social applications and integrating with APIs, and especially familiar with Facebook application development and REST.
? Personality -- Detail oriented, efficient, effective, dedicated, honest and a culture fit.
? Bonus -- Experience building modern web services.
? History -- Because we are looking for a senior-level developer, at least 5+ years of development with a background in CS is desired.
