Teradata/El Segundo, CATeradata Operations, Inc is seeking a Software Architect. The Architect role is a development team leader, responsible for the design, development and support of the database query optimizer and query processing engine, as well as providing help to the feature manager for status tracking and resource assignment within the team. The Architect may be directly engaged with the customers and external parties, and may participate in discussions with global support teams to determine the resolution customer product defects.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
� Design, lead, develop, code, and test enhancements for Teradata's query optimizer software technology
â?¢ Emphasis is on the enhancement and support of Query Optimizer Engine
â?¢ Plan, track and provide status on large projects

Basic Qualifications:
â?¢ US Permanent Residence
â?¢ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
â?¢ 9 years of progressive experience programming with C/C programming language
â?¢ 9 years experience working with the design and construction of relational database engine software
� Strong knowledge of query processing algorithms (several years of experience or equivalent academic studies required)
â?¢ 9 years of experience working with Windows, UNIX Â and Linux operating systems
â?¢ Technical leadership in composing very complex and visionary idea in relational databases specifically query processing and optimization
Preferred Qualifications:
� Master's  degree in Computer Science
