Red Ventures is an online marketing and sales company that generates new customers in large volumes (hundreds of thousands per year) for brands like DIRECTV, ADT and many others in the home services space. Weve been around since 2000 and continue to grow rapidly. Developers here are embedded with business teams, so you have direct communication with business leaders and can implement projects more efficiently with less red tape.
The software we build is used exclusively in-house to drive our business forward. You could work on projects ranging from search engine and social media API implementations to proprietary search marketing tools to CRM applications to dashboards that stream live data on plasma screens. Youll have all the tools you need, including both Linux and Windows-based development environments and multiple 24-inch flat screen monitors. Youll interact with lots of smart people, both technical and non-technical, and can bounce ideas off other members of our large internal developer community. And youll be given the time and resources to explore and develop your own areas of specialty.
Responsibilities:
Architect, design and develop web-based applications, high-traffic consumer-facing websites, intranets and extranets
Work alongside business leaders and marketing staff to determine business requirements and rapidly translate them into final products
Find creative solutions to business and technology challenges
Anticipate future requirements in the design of new systems
Design, evaluate, update and maintain object oriented applications in PHP
Conduct QA tests to ensure functionality before pushing new code live
Maintain project timelines and meet deadlines
Preferred Background:
5+ years of web development experience (PHP, ASP, JSP, or Ruby on Rails)
BS/BA/MS in MIS or CS or equivalent experience or training
Experience with advanced version control systems (Git, SVN)
Knowledgeable about database schema design, normalization, and optimization
Understanding and experience with Web Services
Exposure and strong understanding of MVC frameworks
Advanced knowledge of Javascript, particularly the jQuery framework
Strong OOP and software design ability; able to develop systems that meet architectural objectives including reusable, scalable code
Strong design and coding experience in backend development, web UI development or both
Evidenced understanding of AJAX concepts
Highly self-motivated
Creative problem-solver
Analytical and detail oriented
Able to prioritize, execute and deliver projects on time
