Position / Responsibilities
The Engineering Leader will be responsible for hands-on management of a team of world-class engineers dedicated to building and maintaining LinkedIn consumer properties serving over 67 + million members and billions of page views per year.
Required Skills
Passion for technical leadership and management
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Demonstrated success and desire to work in short-cycle, agile, iterative development culture
10+ years software development, including strong Java / J2EE
3+ years leadership / management experience, with proven track record of motivating and managing world-class teams
Experience in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, highly-available, and high-performance distributed systems
Hire, retain, mentor, career development, and building world-class engineering talent
Ideal Skills:
Experience or interest in building systems which apply modern architecture and design patterns, including both synchronous (SOA) and asynchronous (EDA) paradigms
Engineering operations experience within a 24x7 environment with complex, multi-tiered, highly scalable and highly available system
Experience or interest in designing metrics for complex, distributed, and chaotic systems
Education:
BS / MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, or related field from a leading institution
