The Electric Sheep Company (www.electricsheepcompany.com), a real-time social software/game company located in NYC, is looking for a talented, part-time (20 hours per week), Systems Administrator to maintain, monitor and manage our network.
The ideal candidate will be located in NYC; at the very least, he / she must be within 2-3 hours of NYC to perform periodic hardware maintenance. Also, some nighttime/evening hours may be required as our peak traffic is often during this period.
Our system administrator must be able to perform the following tasks:
- Systems setup
- Systems monitoring
- Hardware Maintenance
- User Support (Mac OS X, Windows)
- Mail servers
- Network Security
- Network Infrastructure
- Backups
Experience with the following is desired:
- Debian Linux
- Apache
- MySQL
- Tuning Apache and MySQL for heavy traffic bursts
- Amazon AWS
- Hardware maintenance
- Mac OS X (for user support)
- CDNs
- Load balancers
- Continuous integration
- Version control
- IRC server
Education / Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent field of study
- 2+ years experience as a System Administrator
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
