Senior Front End Developer/Web Designer

Creative communications agency seeking experienced programmer/front end developer to work across a broad range of clients and platforms. Potential projects include but are not limited to creating web sites, web experiences, microsites, e-commerce platforms, widgets, applications and mobile experiences. In addition a deep understanding of how to utilize and optimize social media outlets is a key factor for any successful candidate. Strong IA/UX skills , design skills and leadership skills are a must. Must have 3-5 years experience.

SKILLS

• Attention to detail/Strong QA.
• Solid foundation in SEO programs and trends
• Key knowledge and understanding of programming (CSS) and web design, and how it affects SEO
• Be able to code and optimize for cross-browser compatibility with HTML4/CSS2.1 -- HTML5/CSS3 knowledge a plus
• Mastery of jQuery/JavaScript
• Thorough knowledge of HTML, Flash, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and additional languages
• Knowledge of Coda and Versions app a plus
• Advanced knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator/Fireworks and other industry tools (Print experience a plus – InDesign)
• Strong conceptual, design, interface design and layout skills
• Knowledge of web development, usability and design, layout and typography principles
• Reports to Chief Creative Officer

PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES/DEVELOPMENT KNOWLEDGE

• HTML/CSS, advance
• PHP, Medium to advance. Knowledge of Code Igniter or Wordpress Development a plus
• ASP .NET, Medium to advance. Knowledge of Windows Server IIS 6 + a plus
• ActionScript 3, Medium to advance
• Objective-C, working knowledge and understand Model-View-Controller design pattern
• Ruby, any level a plus but not necessary
• MySQL or database management a plus
• Mobile development a plus

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Project Management:  
  • Web sites/Landing pages:
    • Assembling and layout for new web pages and sites
    • Architecture and navigation development for new sites
    • QA testing and systems integration with client’s infrastructure
    • UX design and prototyping for client review
    • Managing client presentations for specific projects
  • Banner Ads
    • Layout and flash animation for specific media buys
    • Establishing company presence as a producer of rich media executions
  • Application Development
    • Web apps, layout, flow design
    • Mobile apps, layout, flow design
• Creative Direction
  • Working with the Production team to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of sites that exceed client expectations
  • Thinking strategically on improvement of company digital acumen and strategy for the future
• Personnel Management
  • Responsible for project work and personal development of junior developers
  • Responsible for project work of freelance or contract developers when required
  • Meetings with Art Directors to help them bridge into digital space and interactive media
