Senior Rails Developer at CubeTree, Division of SuccessFactors (Redwood City, CA)

Intro:

CubeTree is looking for an experienced web application developer with experience on at least one major Rails project to join our great team of engineers. The right candidate will join a senior team of architects, systems experts, QA professionals, and world-class web developers from both the enterprise and the consumer web markets.

Responsibilities:

* Deliver new features and incremental site improvements using Ruby on Rails, MySQL, jQuery, MemcacheD and other open source tools
* Ensure a high level of quality for CubeTree's users and for other developers
* Work with Product Managemnt, Customer Support, and Quality Assurance departments to engineer the best possible solutions for each given situation

Qualifications:

* Comfortable developing any portion of Rails application stack from data store layer to browser
* Insistence on Test Driven Development
* Experience with different data access challenges, caching techniques, scalability best practices
* Excels at designing and iterating solutions in small teams
* Understanding of XML/JSON based RESTful APIs
* Strong software engineering fundamentals
* Proficiency working in a Linux environment
* Excited to work in a highly iterative development process with weekly production releases
* 5+ years developing web applications
* BS, Computer Science or equivalent

An ideal candidate would also have:

* Strong Javascript and XHR coding skill including experience using multiple javascript frameworks. YUI and jQuery preferred
* Good knowledge of HTML and CSS best practices
* Experience building multiple web applications backed by MySQL
* Strong sense of what makes for a highly usable application
* Knowledge of secure coding best practices
* Previous experience with an early-stage venture-backed startup
