Lucid Imagination is looking for an
experienced Front-end Developer to join its San Mateo, California software
development team. You will be part
of our team implementing web-based interfaces for our products and services,
including the commercial LucidWorks Enterprise product line. You should have
extensive JavaScript, CSS, and HTML experience and thrive in a dynamic work
environment.

Imagination is the commercial company behind Apache/Lucene Solr, the world?s
leading open source search platform. These cutting edge technologies power
critical search apps at thousands of websites and enterprise apps large and
small ? including Netflix, IBM, Twitter, LinkedIn, and dozens of other

leading contributors and committers to the Lucene project, as well as experts

Responsibilities
You will be based at Lucid's headquarters
in San Mateo, California but work with Lucid?s Engineering team based in both
the USA and Europe.
You will play an integral role in
developing our application interfaces as both stand-alone applications and
publicly available services using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years JavaScript experience in large-scale web deployments requiring cross-browser compatibility.
- Strong command of web standards, CSS-driven/table-less HTML layouts, cross-browser compatibility & browser degradation strategies.
- Experience with multiple development and deployment environments.
- BS in Computer Science or comparable experience.
- Fluent written and spoke English.
- Experience and comfort working with distributed teams and using IRC, email, VoIP, and IM as primary modes of communication.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with user-centric design and usability testing.
- Experience with optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed), dynamic content retrieval, state management, accessibility techniques, device-portability techniques, and internationalization issues.
- Knowledge and/or experience of search technologies, especially Lucene/Solr.
- Experience with open source development tools and environments.
- Contributor to open-source projects (now or in the past).
