Application Technical Architect (TA) at Children International (Kansas City, MO)

Minimum Experience: 5+ years leading development teams through full lifecycle including requirements gathering, technical assessments, package evaluation, technical design, development, launch and support.

Operating Systems: Windows

Technologies/Skills: C#, ASP.Net, JavaScript, HTML, TSQL, AJAX, SQL Server 2000-2008, jQuery, CSS, .NET Framework versions including 3.5, JSON, Visual Studio 2005-2010, Source control systems like TFS or VSS

Responsibilities: The TA shall function as the technical lead for the web development team. Shall plan, design and develop flexible, framework-based code repositories for overall system architecture. Shall take ownership of architecture/technology decisions for all aspects of the system application development life-cycle including use of services-oriented design, database design and infrastructure planning. Shall establish development standards, code reviews, unit test metrics, quality assurance metrics, optimization standards, maintenance standards and overall performance analysis. Must be able to articulate high-level planning and design needs for integration with other/third-party systems.

Utilize agile methodologies for rapid application development (RAD) and proto-typing. Shall mentor application development team of programmers and lead project teams as needed. Must have advanced skill sets in web-based application development.

Qualifications: Expertise in Object-Oriented programming concepts, design patterns, N-tier architecture design and framework-based development methodologies. Understanding of eCommerce principles, eCommerce frameworks and platforms. Exposure to mobile design and development (devices like iPhone, Blackberry, Android) (mobile browser platforms like Windows Mobile, RIM, Palm etc). Exposure to Internationalization and Localization concepts using known framework tools. Exposure to Test automation tools & techniques like Visual Studio Performance Tools, NUnit, MSBuild etc. Can define and execute internet security models. Takes initiative to investigate new tools and methodologies and recommends development strategies for team adoption. Working knowledge of SharePoint 2007 (MOSS and WSS 3.0) product and tools/framework specific to content publishing and management and low-level network/systems integration (command-line PING, TRACERT, DOS shell programming etc) a plus.

Applicable Certifications: Microsoft Certifications (MCSD, MCPD, MCTS etc).
