We are seeking an experienced front-end developer to lead our client-side application development on new local news web sites.
Required Skills:
Experience building user-focused web applications
Continued desire and proven success in taking ownership of front-end development.
Expert level skills with XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS coding skills.
Experience implementing AJAX solutions using client-side libraries such as JQuery, Prototype and Scriptaculous.
Strong knowledge of web standards, CSS-based (table-less) design, and cross-browser compatibility.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
You are a good communicator who thinks critically about UI issues and is willing to express opinions.
Ability to work collaboratively with design, product management, and engineering teams.
Independent and creative thinking
Experience and Educational Background:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or directly related discipline and 2-4 years of directly related experience.
Ideal candidate will have experience in an early stage company or start up environment
