Youll spearhead automatic, continuous deployment for their flagship, groundbreaking research tool.
More than just installing a framework and calling it a day, youll captain a team of skilled IT professionals as you gather the know-how and resources to revamp the deployment of both a web-application and an installed client. Over the course of a year, youll spearhead several projects because project leads rotate every few months as projects finish and priorities move forward.
What youll be doing
Understanding, designing and developing scalable automation platform for deploying and updating Ingenuity applications.
Administering applications running on a 200+ server Linux environment
Developing and maintaining scripts for monitoring and reporting various aspects of system performance, resource utilization, and application usage
Performance tuning and troubleshooting complex system and application issues
Providing 24 x 7 on-call support
Required Skills
What the Client is Looking for (Must Have)
Prior experience with building and deploying automated deployment architectures which can scale.
4 years *nix system administration experience.
Experience with the following languages, listed in order of importance: perl, shell scripting, java, sql, html.
Experience of administering java based web applications running on J2EE application servers such as Jboss, Tomcat, WebLogic, or WebSphere.
Extensive experience with one or more of the following open source tools and applications such as Apache, haproxy, svn, cassandra, mysql, Nessus, nagios, Ethereal, etc.
Strong understanding of system and network security strategies.
BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent, or 4 additional years of relevant experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
What the Client is Looking for (Nice to Have)
8+ years *nix sysadmin experience, with at least 2 year managing environments of 100+ servers.
Experience with these languages: php, javascript, python
Professional certifications in Linux, networking, and/or security
Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios or MRTG
Experience with Oracle or Mysql database administration
Experience working in an ASP / SaaS, or ISP environment
Prior experience in a customer facing professional services role
Able to operate in a physical environment (i.e. travel, lifting server racks. etc.)
