Chicago Internet start-up looking for LAMP developer who is an expert with WordPress. Full time position after 60-90 day trial. Pay per project during trial, salary+quarterly bonus+equity ownership when full time. Partner must be able to meet in office twice a week, and work from home effectively when we are not working together.
WordPress Developer will run tech for company and work closely with Graphic Designer-Creative Director and Director of Marketing.
We are doing agency work for clients that consists of web development and Internet marketing. All sites are built open-source, most using WP as CMS. We have mobile web development projects that will be done for our company, products we will own.
Here are the skills you must possess to be considered for the position:
* Deep knowledge of WordPress core, theming, best practices, and APIs
* Tremendous knowledge and experience with PHP
* Will completely manage servers and hosting
* Familiar with Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks
* Ability to create custom WordPress plugins
* MySQL Database
* W3C validation and browser test all sites
* Ability to work with client development teams through all phases of a project
* must write standards-compliant HTML/CSS/JS
* Ability to provide suggestions to improve existing plugins and websites
* Ability to create buddypress site with our graphic designer to replace NING site
* Familiar with email capture and delivery
The right person will know how to program and engineer effectively, and efficiently. When they do not know how to do it, they can learn quickly, and make the right decision on how to proceed with software solution and development.
