XXXX is a newly formed company focused on carbon dioxide (CO2) related research, development, and technical services. It is the sister company of one of the pre-eminent CO2-based R&D companies worldwide (based in Europe), which has spawned over 10 spin-outs across multiple industries over the past decade that exploit the chemical, material, and environmental properties of liquid and/or supercritical CO2 as a solvent, extraction or impregnation agent, or other.
The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support its development and growth (including that of subsidiary companies). You will work closely with the core team in the U.S. and the engineering group in Europe in a role that will be broad-based and entrepreneurial and required a mix of pure engineering and hands on mechanical prowess.
Primary Responsibilities
- collaborate with engineering/design team to optimize and verify equipment design and processes
- qualify and manage vendors and test components
- proactively seek technology/collaborative partnerships with universities; corporations or other start ups that have strategic value to the company
- assist in managing manufacturing / production / supply chain (under the direction of COO)
- provide field level technical service and support as needed
- develop maintenance and operational service guidelines, and assist in qualifying network of technicians for field service
Requirements
- Bachelor or Masters degree in mechanical engineering
- 5 years + experience in an industrial equipment engineering capacity, familiarity and hands on experience in pressure vessels and ASME PV standards
- knowledge/experience in co2 related processes/equipment is preferred (not required)
- a gung-ho, can do attitude, will to win, and energy required to succeed in a competitive, entrepreneurial environment
- Re-location (if necessary) to Denver CO area by Jan 1 2011. CO - based individuals strongly preferred.
Military and/or team sports background is a plus. Anticipated start date is Q4 of 2010. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and achievements to date. There will be plenty of opportunities for growth.
