The UXP has a dual role of leading a team of UX professionals located in Shanghai as well as participating as a member of the UX organization of Augmentum?s client. The role will require simultaneous execution of several UX projects with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency along with the ability to formulate conclusions with little direction or information. He/She is a self-starter, works independently on projects and looks for opportunities to create UX initiatives to improve the overall site. The UXP leads by example and provides guidance and mentorship to lower level designers. The UXP will also build relationships across the enterprise and maintains UI consistency among the team.
The position will involve occasional travel in the US and internationally to Augmentum?s China development centers in Shanghai.
1. Design (20%)
? Work closely with stakeholders to establish how design will achieve project or company goals.
? Assist setting design direction for overall site experience and ensure projects adhere to that set design direction.
? Incorporate metrics and usability findings into all projects.
? Will work independently as a design lead to explore, create and direct successful designs.
? Ongoing optimization of site User Interface and internal processes.
? Continually evolve, refine and maintain site standards.
? Refresh/update existing designs, working within existing templates and conventions but also exploring new solutions.
2. Management/Leadership (50%)
? Share site standards as they evolve with cross-functional and creative team members.
? Ensure site standards are followed and team knowledge is consistent among individuals.
? Mentor lower level designers in structured and unstructured company programs.
? Take lead on larger projects and initiatives, direct cross-discipline team members on a per project basis.
? Participate in daily team meetings onsite at client offices
? Participate in conference calls/web meetings with Shanghai design teams
3. Other and QA (30%)
? Be aware of competitor best practices and able to leverage these ideas as needed.
? Provide insight and participate in user test plans.
? Provide visual QA comments to and consultation with HTML, Engineering, and PM teams prior to launch.
? Ensure that pages match design spec.

? An expert command of typography, color, composition, hierarchy, and an understanding of how these elements work together for a design solution. ? Create and oversee accurate, clear specifications for HTML. Evaluate the quality of team's specifications and give feedback. Work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing a consistently high level of attention to detail for self and team.

2) Experience:
? At least 6 years of professional design experience
? Including at least 2 years of professional web design experience.
? Has diverse design experience and talents: web design, interactive design, print and/or packaging, identity design, for a variety of clients/companies.
? Retail/e-commerce background is preferred
3) Preferred educational level:
? A college degree in Graphic Design, Interaction/ Digital Design, or other Communications Design-related field preferred.
? User Interface and/or Information Architecture courses
? Exposure to and understanding of Web2.0 and CSS preferred
? Mandarin Chinese speaking ability desirable but not required
