If you are the right person for the job, you will...
- Thrive on and seek out challenging tasks
- Like learning new things
- Should understand HTML
- Have a few years of Ruby on Rails development experience, including all the parts about writing unit/functional/integration/etc. tests for your code
- (Know your way around a relational database and speak enough SQL to be able to construct relatively complex queries and optimize and debug them where necessary (bonus points for PostgreSQL)
- Have a good bit of Javascript knowledge and experience including:
- Asynchronous communication and callbacks (you can call it AJAX if you want)
- JSON
- Know at least enough CSS to be dangerous, but more importantly, when and how to use it properly in a larger scale application
And you?ll get bonus points for...
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, SQS, ...) infrastructure and the practical application thereof in multi-tier application architecture
- Knowing what HAML or SASS are, especially if you?ve used them in a Rails project before
- Knowledge of MongoDB
- jQuery knowledge is a plus
- Have a keen eye and knack for web application interface design and implementation, including knowing your way around Photoshop or similar tools enough to crank out a few placeholder buttons or other graphical assets that look half decent in a pinch
- Being familiar with RSpec, test/spec, shoulda, or similar testing frameworks
