PHP Front-End developer
e5 Global Media is a media and publishing company focusing in B2B magazines and event management, including the following brands: Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek, The Clio Awards, Backstage, Billboard, Film Journal International, and The Hollywood Reporter, as well as ShoWest, ShowEast, Cinema Expo International and CineAsia trade shows. The company is headquartered in New York with offices in US and UK.
This position will be a part of the Web Development team, and be responsible for front-end development on websites owned by e5.
Primary Responsibilities
* Assist with requirements gathering, analysis and design
* Act as a key member of the development team for front-end activities for multiple projects.
* Ability to juggle multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
* Front-end Development using HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP.
* Coordinate with other developers to work in a collaborative manner
* Ability to work with internal and vendors/consultants
* Communicate project status, issues, and progress
* Maintain stake-holders relations
Skills and Requirements
* Must have at least two years experience of LAMP development experience (Preferably in the space of large, consumer-facing web sites)
* Core knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP/Ajax/JSON. Nice to have includes HTML5/Flash/JQuery. Open to other scripting languages besides PHP (such as JSPs or Ruby).
* Experience and understanding of analytics, advertising, SEO, and usability.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to provide thought leadership in technology and design
* Familiarity or experience with frameworks such as MVC, Drupal, Kohana, CakePHP, and Joomla
* Understanding of sound development practices such as source control and environments
* Familiarity or experience with LAMP
* BA/BS degree in Design, Computer Science or equivalent experience
