We're small boutique agency experiencing a growth spurt and we're looking for a Ruby expert to join the team. This person would work on existing projects as well as help to facilitate the development of new projects and internal tools.
Requirements
? Has a solid understanding of web technology development and can work across a wide variety of online technologies
? Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
? Has a strong command of web standards and best practices
? Experience with eCommerce products and portal products
? Able to create OOD code that can be easily understood and interacted with across the whole development team.
? Works well under pressure and can deliver to deadlines
? A passion for delivering innovative, high quality code and thrives in fast paced environment
? Works closely with all stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time/budget
? Willing to learn and utilize new technologies as required.
? Provide professional and technological leadership for the projects assigned to her/him by supervising and ensuring the quality of the designs and implementations included in those projects but authored by other engineers.
Technical Qualifications
? Minimum 5-7 years experience developing and supporting complex web applications
? Commercial website application design and development experience
? Very experienced with developing for web/REST on LAMP platforms
? Solid experience in Ruby on Rails and deploying Rails applications
? Experience in configuring and deploying both staging and production environments in multiple flavors of Linux.
? Deeply understands Web protocols (http/tcp/etc.), MySQL database development, Apache web server development
? Working knowledge of build systems
? Familiarity with distributed version control systems such as Git.
? Knowledge of front-end web standards such for HTML, JavaScript, CSS
? Experience with eCommerce products and portal products
Bonus Points!
? Working knowledge of JSP and JSTL
? Working knowledge of .NET
? Experience with enterprise application servers such as IBM WebSphere, BEA Weblogic and/or ATG
